HEALTH SERVICES
To help maintain a healthy school environment for all students and staff, please review the following guidelines regarding your child’s health and school attendance.
If your child is not feeling well and you are unsure whether they should attend school, it is best to keep them at home and monitor for any worsening symptoms. If your child is too ill to attend school in the morning, they should remain at home for the entire day.
Please notify the school’s Attendance Office whenever your child is absent.
For students with chronic illnesses, it is essential to have a Health Care Plan (HCP) on file at school. These plans provide staff with important information on how to care for your child and respond to any emergencies related to their condition. It is the parent’s responsibility to inform the school of their child’s medical needs by submitting a physician-signed Medical Statement for Students with Allergies and/or Chronic Diseases.
To discuss your child’s condition or to obtain Health Care Plan forms, you may schedule an appointment with the school nurse.

The California Immunization Record (sometimes called the “yellow card”) helps you keep track of what shots your child has received and when. Keep it safe, and keep it up-to-date. Bring it with you when you take your children in for shots. If you can’t find your child’s record card, ask your doctor’s office for a copy. Many California medical offices and clinics can now update your child’s yellow card automatically using an electronic immunization registry.
