Dear CSD Families,
We had a fantastic evening last night filled with community, inclusivity, and exciting competition! Our Unity Fest: A Carnival for All Abilities was a huge success, and it was truly heartwarming to see students, staff, and families come together for such a meaningful cause.
Parents, staff, and students alike had a wonderful time. From enjoying delicious food to riding the train and dancing the night away, there was something for everyone. A special highlight of the evening was having one of our very own students serve as the DJ, setting the perfect vibe for a night of celebration and unity.
We are so proud of our students and the incredible community that made this such a special event in support of our Special Education program.
Esports Tournaments
The excitement didn’t stop there—we also hosted successful Esports tournaments! Students showcased their skills in a high-energy gaming showdown. The energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship on display were truly inspiring. Congratulations to all our amazing participants!
We extend our sincere gratitude to our Special Education Department team, the Educational Services Department, and all those who contributed to the success of these events. Your dedication, collaboration, and unwavering support made the evening truly unforgettable.
We’ve attached photos from both events so you can relive the joy and excitement.
Take Care,
Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

Los Amigos Elementary School By Principal Amber Arreguin
Roaring with Fun at Los Amigos!
The energy and excitement on campus lately have been truly contagious! I'm thrilled to share that our incredible Dragon community has reached a fantastic milestone: earning over 50,000 ROAR tickets! This remarkable achievement is a testament to our students' commitment to Respect, Organization, and Responsibility – the very essence of our ROAR expectations.
As a reward for their hard work and positive behavior, our students were treated to a special Staff vs. Students Game Day, and what a day it was! Throughout designated blocks of time, students from every grade level, along with our enthusiastic staff, participated in a variety of fun and engaging games. From the strategic plays of 9 Square and tetherball to the skillful throws at the ball wall and the lively rounds of Fire and Ice and Gaga Ball, there was something for everyone. Even the classic sack races brought out laughter and friendly competition.
A huge thank you goes out to our dedicated PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) team for their outstanding work in organizing and facilitating such a wonderful and memorable event. Their commitment to fostering a positive school climate and recognizing our students' efforts is truly appreciated.
Also, last Friday afternoon, our students had a delightful surprise with a visit from Nydia Armendia, a former Dragon who has blossomed into a published children's book author! Ms. Armendia, who wrote "Not Far From Here" and "Frida Kahlo's Flower Crown," generously read to our students and engaged in a thoughtful Q&A session prepared with the help of our school librarian, Ms. Haro. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn firsthand about the writing process and Ms. Armendia’s journey.
