SUPERINTENDENT'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
8/15/2025

Dear Cucamonga SD Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to a brand-new school year! It was wonderful to see our students’ smiling faces and enthusiastic energy as they walked through our doors last Thursday. The excitement was contagious, and we are thrilled to begin another year of learning, growth, and fun together.

We hope your child’s first full week has been a smooth and positive transition. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to create welcoming, engaging classroom environments where every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.

As we settle into the rhythm of the year, we know that this time often brings many questions—and that’s okay! Whether you’re wondering about classroom routines, upcoming events, or how to best support your child at home, please know that we’re here for you. We encourage you to reach out directly to your child’s teacher, our front office, or school leadership at any time. Strong communication between school and home plays a vital role in each student’s success, and we deeply value your partnership.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more updates, important dates, and highlights from around the school. Be on the lookout for our weekly newsletter to stay connected.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and your collaboration. We are so excited for all that this year will bring and look forward to working together to make it an exceptional experience for every student.

Let’s make it a fantastic year!

Take Care,
 Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Back to School at CES

What a fantastic start to the 2025–2026 school year we’ve had at CES! The energy on campus this week has been nothing short of joyful—our hallways are once again buzzing with excitement, curiosity, and the spirit of learning.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Back to School Night! It was wonderful to see so many of you connecting with teachers, exploring classrooms, and visiting our amazing community vendors. Events like these remind us that strong partnerships between home and school are key to student success.

This week, students gathered for Welcome Assemblies where we celebrated the start of the year, reviewed school-wide expectations, and introduced our shared commitment to the Portrait of a Graduate—the district’s vision for student success. At our school, we’ll continue to grow each student’s skills in resiliency, cross-cultural awareness, critical thinking, communication, innovation, problem-solving, and more.

Next week, we begin our beginning-of-year benchmark assessments. These assessments help our teachers understand what students already know and where they may need support, so we can tailor instruction to meet every child’s needs from the very start. Please make sure your students have a high protein breakfast and early bedtime.

We’re also thrilled to welcome several new teaching staff members to our school family this year:

  • Ms. Garcia-Cortez, 4th Grade Teacher
  • Mrs. Lopez, 4th-5th grade Teacher
  • Miss Simms, Kindergarten Teacher

Please join me in giving them a warm Cubs welcome!

We are excited for the year ahead and all the learning and growth it will bring.

With gratitude,
Dr. Tremayne
